Scripture:

John 12:12-1

             The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting

            “Hosanna!”

             “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

             “Blessed is the King of Israel!”

            Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written,

            “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”

            At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him.

            Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!”

Scriptures

Proverbs 3:5–8

            Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

6           in all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make your paths straight.

7           Do not be wise in your own eyes;

fear the Lord and shun evil.

8           This will bring health to your body

and nourishment to your bones.

 John 6:16-24

16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. 23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.
