Scriptures:
Galatians 1:1-12
Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— and all the brothers with me, To the churches in Galatia:
Grace and peace to you from God our
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us
from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I am astonished that you are so
quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning
to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people
are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the
one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already
said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than
what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or
am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be
a servant of Christ.
I want you to know, brothers, that
the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it
from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from
Jesus Christ.
Acts 15:6-11
The apostles and elders met to consider this question. After
much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some
time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips
the message of the gospel and believe. God, who knows the heart, showed that he
accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He made
no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. Now
then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a
yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? No! We believe it
is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
Matthew 18:3,4
“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart
