Scripture:

Proverbs 29:22
An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.

Matthew 21:12-17
Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a ‘den of robbers.’”
The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.
“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “ ‘From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise’?”
And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

James 1:20
…for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Proverbs 29:11
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.

Psalm 13:1
How long, O Lord? Will you forget about me forever?

Psalm 4:4
In your anger do not sin, when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

Psalm 103:8
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love.

Words to the Wise – Guard Your Heart

Proverbs 4:20-27
My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.  Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Ruth 1:16
“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 5:8
Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house….

Words To The Wise - Tongue Tied

Scripture:

Proverbs 13:3
He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

James 3:8-10
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Proverbs 18:21
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Matthew 12:34
For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

Proverbs 21:23
He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.

Proverbs 17:27, 28
A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered. Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

Proverbs 12:22
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.
