Scriptures:
Luke 1:46-55
And
Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my
Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on
all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things
for me - holy is his name.
His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”

Isaiah 9:1,2 Nevertheless,
there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he
humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will
honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan—
The people walking in darkness
have seen
a great light;
on those
living in the land of the shadow of death
a light
has dawned.
Luke 1:26-30
In the sixth month, God sent the
angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married
to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The
angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is
with you.”
Mary was greatly troubled at his
words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to
her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
Deuteronomy
22:20-27
If,
however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be
found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men
of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in
Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge
the evil from among you.
If a man is found sleeping with
another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You
must purge the evil from Israel.
If
a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps
with her, you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them
to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help,
and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil
from among you.
But
if out in the country a man happens to meet a young woman pledged to be married
and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. Do nothing to the
woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of
someone who attacks and murders a neighbor, for the man found the young woman
out in the country, and though the betrothed woman screamed, there was no one
to rescue her.
Luke 1:38
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to
me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.
John 7:41,42
Others said, “He is the Messiah.”
Still
others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee? Does not Scripture say
that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants and from Bethlehem, the
town where David lived?
Others said, “He is the Christ.”
Still others asked, “How can the Christ come from
Galilee?
