Scriptures:
Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father
and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is
giving you.
1 Peter 2:17
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake
to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme
authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong
and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you
should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. Live as free men, but do not
use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. Show proper
respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the
king.
Matthew 22:37-40
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And
the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the
Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not
obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline
him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders
at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is
stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a
drunkard.” Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must
purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.
Acts 8:29
“We must obey God rather than
men!”
Luke 8:21
“My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and
put it into practice.”
