Scriptures:
James 1:13-18
When
tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by
evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil
desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it
gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every
good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the
heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us
birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all
he created.
Genesis 3:12
The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me
some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
Proverbs 19:3
A man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages
against the LORD.
Matthew 7:1-6
“Do not judge, or you too will be
judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the
measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of
sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own
eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’
when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take
the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck
from your brother’s eye.
“Do not give dogs what is
sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them
under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.”
