Scriptures:
Luke 6:27-36
“But I
tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless
those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on
one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop
him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes
what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them
do to you.
“If you love those who love you, what
credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. And if you do
good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’
do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit
is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in
full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without
expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be
sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful,
just as your Father is merciful.
Galatians 5:22 – 23
Galatians 5:22 – 23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
Titus 3:4-6
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived
and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and
envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God
our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done,
but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and
renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus
Christ our Savior.
Proverbs 15:4
The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a
deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
Words have the power to hurt and the power to heal.
James 3:6
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the
parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his
life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
James 1:19
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be
quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry….”
Proverbs 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs
up anger.
